  • Heat a large pan over medium heat and add oil. Once the oil is hot, place the chicken breasts in the pan. Cook them, turning every few minutes, until fully cooked. Glaze the chicken with Wagamama teriyaki sauce.
  • While the chicken cooks, prepare the stock by following the instructions on the Wagamama chicken ramen meal kit. Add soy sauce to taste.
  • Cook the ramen noodles as directed in the meal kit, then rinse them under cold water to stop cooking. Set the noodles aside.
  • Once the chicken is done, deglaze the pan by adding a spoonful or two of the broth. Cover the pan with a lid and let it simmer briefly. Remove the chicken, and pour the stock and teriyaki mixture into the broth.
  • Slice the cooked chicken. Add the noodles to the broth to heat them up. Then divide the noodles and broth evenly between two bowls.
  • Top each bowl with sliced chicken, spring onions, and baby spinach. Enjoy!

FAQs

Ramen is the ultimate comfort food in a bowl. This traditional and popular Japanese dish is a noodle soup made with a rich broth, which can be vegetable- or meat-based. It’s served with noodles, protein, and vegetables. Available across Japan at any time of day or night, ramen comes in many varieties with different ingredients and toppings. You can even customize it to match your tastes and dietary preferences!

Ramen can be healthy or unhealthy, depending on the type and preparation. Traditional ramen, especially when homemade or from high-quality restaurants, can be a nutritious meal when loaded with vegetables, lean proteins, and broth made with minimal sodium. It offers energy from carbohydrates, protein from eggs or meat, and essential vitamins if vegetables are added.

However, instant ramen is less healthy due to high sodium, saturated fat, and artificial additives like MSG. A single serving of instant ramen can contain over 1,000 mg of sodium and significant unhealthy fats.

Our recipe uses chicken breast, but you can swap it for boneless chicken thighs if you prefer. To cook either one, heat a large frying pan or griddle over medium-high heat. Add a dash of oil, then place the chicken in the pan. Turn it every few minutes until it’s fully cooked through.
